What is Dong Quai?

Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) is a fragrant, perennial plant that grows at high altitudes in the cold, damp, mountain regions of China, Korea and Japan. The yellowish-brown thick-branched roots of the dong quai herb have been used for thousands of years for its vast number of medicinal uses. In China, it is even more widely used than ginseng, and it has recently earned itself a considerable following in Australia and the United States.
